Peter H. Carroll

Peter is an associate at Sloane and Walsh and focuses his practice on insurance coverage and bad faith, automobile and trucking law and general liability litigation. He practices in State and Federal Courts in Massachusetts and Rhode Island. 

Peter is a graduate of The College of the Holy Cross in Worcester, Massachusetts and Suffolk University Law School in Boston. 

Prior to joining Sloane and Walsh, Peter interned with the Honorable Joseph A. Trainor of the Massachusetts Appeals Court where he researched and drafted bench memoranda on a variety of issues ranging from the Confrontation Clause, corporate restructuring and “sham transactions,” search and seizure, adverse possession, and zoning issues, as well as help Justice Trainor prepare for oral arguments. He also interned for the Honorable Bruce R. Henry of the Massachusetts Superior Court where he researched and drafted bench memoranda on issues including 93A claims, breach of warranties, motions to suppress, and admissibility of a prior conviction in a first degree murder trial. Peter also had the opportunity to intern with the Suffolk County District Attorney’s Office as a Rule 3:03 Certified Intern. While at the District Attorney’s Office, Peter represented the Commonwealth in arraignment and bail revocation proceedings, and prepared to represent the Commonwealth in motions and trials, including possession of heroin, sex for fee, malicious destruction of property, trespassing, and disorderly conduct. In between internships, Peter worked at Murray Law Office under Vincent Murray handling a variety of civil litigation issues, including vicarious liability, probating estates, non-compete agreements, and preliminary injunctions.

Prior to law school, Peter worked for State Senator Richard R. Tisei as a legislative analyst. As a legislative analyst, he researched and compiled briefs utilized in strategy sessions and floor debates on issues ranging from the National Popular Vote Movement to gaming legislation. Peter also worked at Oxfam America where he analyzed voting records of U.S. Representatives and Senators, farm commodity subsidy recipients, and Congressional campaign contributions to enhance and refine Oxfam’s Agriculture Campaign.
